ABOUT

Samantha (Sammy) Bermúdez is a German-Venezuelan photo-journalist living in Hamburg. She focuses on portraits and artistic documentaries, using mostly analog film. After studying media design at the Duale Hochschule Baden-Württemberg in Ravensburg, she began documenting social issues and underground youth cultures.

Her first photobook, *LUCKY SHOT*, showcases the underground music scene in Germany from the past three years. Bermúdez's work has been shown in solo and group exhibitions both in Germany and abroad. She has also done commercial projects for well-known brands like WhatsApp, PUMA, and Telekom.

Currently, she is working on a long-term project named “Von Blumen und Unkraut,” in which she documents the life and political subcultures around the autonomous center Rote Flora in Hamburg.
